October 7-12 is Fire Prevention Week! Every year during Fire Prevention Week the Huron Shores Fire Department hosts Open Houses at each fire station. This year the Open Houses will be held as follows: Station 1, Little Rapids – Tuesday, October 9, from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Station 2, Iron Bridge – Thursday, October 11, from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. The Fire Department encourages everyone to drop by the stations for barbecue and other refreshments, tours of the fire halls, “hands on” equipment demonstrations, and great family-friendly fire safety information. Meet the volunteer members of your Fire Department and learn about the Junior Fire Fighter Program. The theme for Fire Prevention Week this year is: “Have 2 ways out!” The Huron Shores Fire Department reminds everyone to develop and practice your own home fire escape plan.
