Cameco Community Appreciation Day in Huron Shores On June 6, 2019, Cameco employees came to Iron Bridge in order to beautify the municipal complex and undertake other jobs in the Iron Bridge area. It was all part of Cameco’s Annual Community Appreciation Day. Each year Cameco donates the tools and materials, and the employees, many of whom live in Huron Shores, donate their time to carry out refurbishment and beautification projects in the Municipality and in the Town of Blind River. This year’s activities included planting flowers at the municipal complex, tidying the beds next door at the Public Library; constructing a park benches and picnic tables for Little Rapids Park and the Iron Bridge Historical Museum; ). The Cameco team members were Janice Brown, Jill Boisvenue, Cindy Goytan-Lipinski, Matthew Grexton, Matt Pierre, and Kyle Murray. In previous years, Cameco volunteers have: re-stained the gazebo at Tally-Ho Park; constructed and stained park benches for the Iron Bridge Historical Museum; built picnic tables for various parks; and repaired the change rooms at Beharriell Park on Lake Huron, often working in the rain. The Council and residents of Huron Shores would like to thank Cameco and its employees for once again demonstrating their generosity and community spirit.
