Emergency Preparedness (EP) Week is an annual event that takes place each year during the first full week of May. This year the national Emergency Preparedness takes place May 1-7, 2022, this is an opportunity to better prepare and protect yourself and family during emergencies. This years theme is “Emergency Preparedness: Be Ready for Anything”. Before an emergency happens, it’s important to make sure you have an emergency plan in place for your household.

Be prepared for an emergency – ontario.ca provides a guideline for completing each step below:

  • Developing your plan
  • Building an emergency kit
  • Making sure you stay informed should an emergency occur

Get Prepared by learning about hazards and emergencies, preparing for wildfires, reviewing the Protecting People and Property: Ontario’s Flood Strategy, and implementing a Flood Ready Plan.

Emergencies can happen at any time and without warning. With a little preparation, you can respond quickly to help yourself and others.
