Fundraising Events for Disaster Relief The Central Algoma Joint Disaster Relief Committee has planned a number of activities to raise funds to assist those who suffered property damage in the September 2013 flood event. NOTE: Tickets for the dinners and comedy night are available from Committee Members, call 705-842-3108 or 705-842-5622, and at all participating municipal offices: Twp. of MacDonald, Meredith and Aberdeen Additional (208 Church Street, Echo Bay); Twp. of Laird (3 Pumpkin Point Rd, Echo Bay); Twp. of Plummer Additional (38 Railway Crescent, Bruce Station); and the Municipality of Huron Shores (7 Bridge Street, Iron Bridge). Events are as follows: Silent Auction: March 5th-20th, Northern Credit Union, Thessalon, items may be viewed from Monday-Friday during regular business hours. Pasta Supper and Progressive Auction: Sunday, March 16th, 4:00-7:00 p.m., Echo Bay Community Hall, Adults $10.00, Children: $5.00. The Hall will be open to allow for bids on the Progressive Auction items (Friday, March 14 – 6:00-8:00 p.m.; Saturday, March 15 – 2:00-4:00 p.m.; Sunday, March 16 – 4:00-7:00 p.m.) Roast Beef Dinner: Saturday, April 5th, 4:30 – 7:00 p.m., Iron Bridge Lions Club Hall, 10 Clarissa Street. Adults $20.00; Children (10 and Under) $8.00. Cash Bar available. In addition to the outlets listed above, tickets are also available at the Sun Ray Cafe (former Nugget) in Iron Bridge, Forestland in Thessalon, and from all Huron Shores Council members. Spring Fun Fling and Comedy Night: Saturday, April 26th, Johnson Twp. Community Centre, Desbarats. Doors open at 5:00 pm.; Dinner at 6:00 p.m.: Pulled Pork and Salads. Dessert Auction. Comedy featuring the Bar River Sports Club Comedy Group & Booker “D” to follow. Cash Bar available.
