Huron Shores Fire Department Station 1 Hosts Grade 3 Class Visit Mr. Pratt's Gr. 3 Class at Station 1 Members of the Huron Shores Fire Department at Station #1 in Little Rapids hosted Mr. Pratt’s Grade 3 Class from Thessalon Public School on November 29th, 2010. The children toured the station and participated in “hands-on” firefighting experience. Schools and other interested groups are invited to contact Fire Prevention Officer Henk VanDelft to arrange visits to either of the Municipal Fire Stations, located in Little Rapids and Iron Bridge. This initiative is part of the Fire Department’s Community Education and Outreach Program. Fire Station Open Houses for the general public are also held twice per year. This program is for young people aged 16-17 years who are interested in participating in volunteer firefighter training under the mentorship of a Fire Department member.
