The Municipality has received the following invitation from the Chicken Farmers of Ontario (CFO):

“In collaboration with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), CFO will be delivering educational farmer workshops for poultry growers in Northern Ontario on bird health and husbandry practices, and on the opportunities to raise chicken locally, available through CFO.  This is the second annual Northern Poultry tour, taking place in early July.  Please click here to view the program flyer.

CFO has a portfolio of programs that support expanded business opportunities for chicken farmers and offers Ontario consumers more choice in accessing locally grown chicken. In 2018, 24 Northern farmers are participating in CFO’s Artisanal Chicken Program, helping to fill local food and seasonal markets.

We would like to invite you to attend a workshop, hosted in your community: July 10th, Historic Cordukes/Weber 12-Sided Barn, 1410 Basswood Lake Road, Sowerby @ 6:30 PM

Please feel free to share the details with your colleagues or any constituents that may be interested.  To RSVP or to request further information, please contact Carl Stevenson, Community Programs Operations Manager and Flock Advisor or call toll free 1.855.244.2575.”
