Effective 5:00 p.m., July 21st, 2015, the portion of Ansonia Road that was closed for culvert replacement will be open to the traveling public.  The only work remaining is re-installation of the guard rail system which will take place at a later date.  The Municipality requests the traveling public to remain cautious and be vigilant for signs of that work being undertaken. The Municipality thanks and appreciates the public for its understanding and patience while this necessary work was completed.

Please watch for updates with respect to reconstruction work on a different portion of Ansonia Road to commence in the near future.

Ansonia Rd. Culvert Replacement

The traveling public is advised that a portion of Ansonia Road will be closed to through traffic beginning June 29th for approximately 6 weeks between its intersections with Scheuermann Highway and Hopper Road.  This closure is necessary for installation of the large culvert located near the western end of the Municipality. This culvert installation is part of the ongoing work to repair infrastructure damaged due to the September 2013 flood event.  In addition, prior to the scheduled June 29th construction start date, the contractor will be moving heavy equipment to the work site in preparation for the project start.  Local residents and the traveling public are advised to drive cautiously and be watchful for large equipment and construction personnel on, and in the vicinity of, Ansonia Road in the coming weeks.  Affected residents/property owners have been apprised of the project by Public Works staff.

Funding for this project was the result of a successful application under the Ontario Small, Rural, Northern Municipal Infrastructure Fund (SRNMIF) Capital Program.  The Municipality thanks and appreciates the public for its understanding and patience while this necessary work progresses in the coming weeks.
